Bowen Remodeling & Design

Since apparently you can only do one review on Google, I am editing my previous one to add the new review. We just had our basement finished by Bowen, and are very pleased. It was a massive job bedroom, workshop, full bath, pantry, wet bar, rec room. The craftsmen are experienced, trustworthy, and super friendly. This was our third project with Bowen, and the largest. They also completely redid our guest bath and put hardwood flooring on the whole second floor. You might say our house has been entirely Bowenized and we love it! Highly recommend!

Bowen not only did a fabulous job with our master bathroom renovation but were a pleasure to work with! We wanted to update our 26-year-old master bathroom and the best course was to remove everything but the dry wall. With Bowen, design services are included in the price and they have an extensive showroom in Crofton with oodles of samples. It's a one stop shop, with varying price points.

The owner (Joe Bowen) came out for the first meeting and to measure. We weren't sure what we could do in the space. He did not rush us, gave us several options, and never tried to steer us to something we were not comfortable price wise or style wise. He also popped by several times to check the progress of the job.

Jordyn was our designer and I can't say enough about her! She truly listened to our likes, dislikes, and budget. She was not judgmental when you share ideas with her and gives very practical advice. For instance, we thought we wanted a pocket door to the WC. She said it could be done but here are the things we would giving up. After hearing her comments, we did not proceed with the pocket door. She was really interested in designing what we needed. She was very easy to work with and extremely responsive.

I appreciated that we were given a Projected Schedule with details of who was coming when and what was happening. Everyone was great and advising of any changes.

We were extremely fortunate to have Sean as our Project Manager, Dale was on the job most days and has a huge skill set, plus Billy helped with wallpaper removal and wall prep.

Sean made sure our project ran smoothly and was here most days working with Dale. I don't think there is anything that Dale can't do - he was fantastic! He asked for our input on placement of towel bars, grab bars, and other things. He never rushed us and helped us figure out the best option. He is extremely meticulous with his tile work and it's gorgeous. Bowen gave us the option to paint the bathroom ourselves, to save some money. Billy often paints for customers and was very detailed in removing our wallpaper and prepping the walls. He spoke several times with my husband, who would be painting the room, giving him lots of painting tips and suggestions.

Renovations can be challenging; however, ours was very smooth and we are thrilled with the design and quality of the work. I highly recommend this team!

Bowen just completed a total renovation of our master bath (and a little work in the adjourning closet). It was a great experience from start (design) to finish (final touch-up painting) and everything in between, and the results look FABULOUS.

I want to especially acknowledge the work of Charlie, who was responsible for the majority of the work (removal, carpentry and tile), while acknowledging that everyone involved (including subcontractors) were GREAT.

I wont say there were zero glitches (in a major project there will always be something that doesnt go perfectly), but Bowen worked with us to address a couple of minor items that came up to provide a final product they (and we) can be proud of.

Perhaps the biggest complement I can provide is I plan to use Bowen next year for work on our first floor.

We chose Bowen to remodel our very outdated primary bathroom and turn our closets into a walk in closet space. They designed a great floor plan that met all our needs- the work was impeccable and the staff was great to work with! We had lots of questions before and during the process that they patiently and quickly answered! We get lots of compliments on the work!!

We recently completed a primary bathroom remodel with Bowen, and from the very first conversation through the final walkthrough, the experience was exceptional.

We first met Joe Bowen at the Maryland Home and Garden Show. Unlike many others we spoke with, Joe didnt try to sell us anything on the spot. Instead, he listened to our goals and offered to have Sarah Bowen visit our home. Sam is an experienced interior designer with a real passion for what she does, and that came through immediately. She offered thoughtful suggestions we hadnt considered and walked us through Bowens process and timelineeverything was clear and on schedule.

After the initial estimate, we visited their showroom to go over design ideas and material options with Sam. This step was incredibly helpful. She helped us visualize everything and pulled together samples in a way that made the entire process feel collaborative and low-pressure. At no point did we feel like we were being "sold to"this was a true design partnership.

Other companies we spoke with had limitationssome refused to alter layouts, didnt pull permits, or required us to find our own materials and tradespeople. Bowen was the complete opposite. They handled everything in-house: permits, labor, materials, designstart to finish. Their estimate was competitive with other contractors, and the value was far greater. We purchased the light fixtures ourselves (our choice because my wife has a background in lighting design), and Bowen handled everything else.

Now that the remodel is complete, we can confidently say the results exceeded our expectations. The bathroom is exactly what we had envisionedmodern, spa-like, and stunning. Bowens craftsmanship was top tier. Their team protected all nearby spaces, cleaned up daily (vacuuming and wiping down dusty areas), and yeswe were able to sleep in our bed every night during the renovation, just as promised.

Before work started, we received a daily schedule and the names of everyone whod be on-site. When they ran into unexpected issueslike discovering a dangerously cut floor joist under the old showerthey brought it to our attention and resolved it properly. Any minor issues that came up during the project were addressed promptly. Now, a month post-completion, we have zero items left on our punch list.

If you're planning a remodel, start with Bowen. We met with six different companies, and Bowen was by far the most honest, organized, and collaborative. Were already planning to use them againand next time, we wont waste time shopping around. Bowen will be our first and only call.

Great company that provides excellent work. I am a repeat customer and have never hesitated hiring them for my projects. They have completed so many projects for me over the years making my house look fabulous. This company can do it all. They remodeled a bathroom, helped with the remodeling of my kitchen, did a reno on my front porch and replaced the trim of the house too! No need to look elsewhere for an honest and reliable company that does quality work. It has always been a pleasure to work with the entire crew. Samantha and Jordyn are exceptional at what they do. Have loved and appreciated their expertise and recommendations on all the remodeling projects. No need to look further. This company will not disappoint.

I am enjoying a beautiful kitchen by Bowen Remodeling & Design. It is both lovely and highly functional. I really had few ideas about what I wanted. Samantha had many suggestions for design elements that are practical and make working in the kitchen easier and more fun. She also was honest about some design elements that might sound good, but in practice would not work for me. She asked questions and really listened to me to help me choose what would work best for me. She also addressed many design elements I never would have thought of; the details that make the whole project look better and work well together.

The quality of the cabinets & hardware is excellent. The countertops are beautiful and so easy to clean. The new backsplash is installed beautifully. The flooring is lovely and cleans beautifully. All elements look and feel of very high quality, and I expect they will last for many, many years.

The construction team was such a pleasure to have in my home, from demo to final finish. I was given a detailed schedule in advance, that they followed. If I had questions, the lead team of Sean & Jordyn were very responsive. Tje pros doing the work were polite and tidy. They did high quality work efficiently. I'm pretty picky, but they always addressed my concerns. I actually found the finish on a few doors to have small but unacceptable flaws. Bowen agreed & worked with the cabinet company to replace them. This was an easy experience, with Showplace Cabinetry backing their product.
Having your kitchen redone is a lot of decisions. Choosing Bowen was our first & best decision. Having workmen in your home for weeks can feel disruptive, but polite, and professional workmen make that easier. Having a solid lead team for those guys makes everything smoother. Starting out the project with a good designer who helps you figure out what works best for YOU is critical. I am truly enjoying my new kitchen by Bowen Remodeling & and Design. I'll probably never do another kitchen, but I'm considering a bathroom next. My first call, of course, will be to Bowen.

Im very pleased with how the work went. The few glitches were generally not Bowens fault and were addressed promptly. Work began on time and finished a day early.

They did it again. For our fourth project with Bowen we converted a tub/shower to a more accessible shower. The results were beautiful and help extend the amount of time we can stay in our home. Samantha listened and helped select design options to meet our needs and style. The crew was always respectful of our property and cleaned up each day as they worked. We have Bowen in our cell phones because of the consistently professional way they have handled our bathrooms, kitchen, and living room.

We are starting our second bathroom remodeling project with Bowen and plan on using them for an in-home office remodel as well. Quality, professionalism, and timeliness are hallmarks of their work. Our designer (Jordyn) listened to what we wanted and helped us get to a result we are extremely pleased with. Additionally, the primary person (Mark) onsite for our recent project was respectful of our home and maintained a tidy and neat work area throughout the time he was here.

I recently had 3 bathrooms remodeled by Bowen. I am very happy with the remodeling of each bathroom, the staff was very professional. Now I have bathrooms the whole family can enjoy. Thanks to Samantha and Joe. 5 stars for jobs well one.
